We implemented the Audubon Society of Panama’s Green Classrooms environmental education program in the Estado de Israel and Carlos A. Mendoza elementary schools, located in the middle watershed of the Matías Hernández River. Once or twice a week, environmental educators visited schools and gave talks on various environmental topics to 807 students from 5th and 6th grades. They also took educational tours to raise awareness about the environment and the importance of keeping it clean for their own well-being. In this way, the children were motivated to become agents of change, thus creating a cleaner future for our country.
